This
course explores the conventionally English, German, and American tradition of
philosophical aesthetics. Readings include Kant’s Critique of Judgment
in addition to selected other readings which may include Plato, Aristotle,
Lessing, Shaftesbury, Herder, Schiller, Hegel, Nietzsche, Adorno/Horkheimer,
Benjamin, Heidegger, among others.
