This course counts for Sophomore Theology, a Philosophy elective, and as a Global studies seminar.

This course is an in-depth study of the Buddhist textual tradition starting with the early sectarian canon in South Asia and progressing through Chinese and Japanese Buddhism, including Zen Buddhism. We will explore these texts in terms of their religious and philosophical meanings.
