Student Philosophy Awards
Jane B. Aron Prize in Philosophy
Each year the Philosophy Department at Lincoln Center awards the Jane B. Aron Prize ($2000 towards tuition) to a Philosophy major who still has a significant number of Philosophy courses to take (therefore, most likely a junior), and whose academic work merits the prize. Information about this prize is available from Dr. Charles Kelbley in 916 LL (ext. 6242).
Philosophy Honor Society
Philosophy majors and minors are eligible to apply to the national honor society for philosophy students, Phi Sigma Tau.
Requirements:
Students must have completed six philosophy courses (or seniors minoring in philosophy must be in the process of completing their sixth philosophy course);
Students must have at least a 3.0 general GPA;
Students must have at least a 3.5 GPA in their philosophy courses.
Interested students should bring or send an updated copy of their transcript to Dr. Charles
Kelbley, Associate Chair of Philosophy, at room 916C. A reception for newly enrolled members will be held in the fall.
