Peace and Justice Certificate Program

Peace and Justice Studies is a certificate program begun at Rose Hill in 1987. It is now possible at Lincoln Center to complete this program. The student begins by taking PJLU 3110 "Introduction to Peace and Justice Studies." After this, the student takes any four (or more) courses in the Peace and Justice program cross-listed from other departments to complete the five-course requirement for the certificate. The Peace and Justice certificate can thus be combined with a Philosophy major or minor. Currently the Philosophy courses at Lincoln Center approved for credit in the Peace and Justice program include:
bullet PHLU 3130 Philosophy of Law (Kelbley)
bullet PHEV 3180 Technology and Values (Babich)
bullet PHLV 4205 Justice and Social Identity.

Courses with a V-code are senior values seminars. If you are not a senior, you may need special permission to enroll in these courses.

At Lincoln Center, Dr. Astrid O'Brien of the Philosophy Department is the point person to consult about the Peace and Justice Studies program. For further information, please contact Director Robin Andersen of the Communications Department at Rose Hill: andersen@fordham.edu.
