The Alcohol and Other Drug Education Program requests your assistance in recruiting new members of the Fordham Univeristy Peer Educators. Peer Educators provide accurate information and opportunities for the exploration of personal goals and values that challenge and empower students to make safe and informed choices. By taking this proactive approach, Peer Educators increase awareness and challenge all students to play a role in transforming the culture of alcohol and other drug use on campus.
The students who you nominate will be invited to participate in a required training program this spring, which will incorporate interpersonal skills such as active listening, communication skills, and intervention skills, with skills that will enable the students to be effective role models and leaders on campus.
A Peer Educator should be responsive, open-minded, a good listener and be reliable. She/he should have strong interpersonal skills, leadership potential, a willingness to dedicate time, to be actively involved in the Fordham community, and to further his/her leadership skills. Please list the names of freshmen or sophomore students who you nominate as Peer Educators. These students will be invited to participate in the Spring Semester 2010 Peer Education training.
