The Office of Campus Ministry provides a number of opportunities for students to cultivate a personal relationship with God and grow in their personal spiritual development. We provide opportunities for students to meet and discuss issues of importance to spiritual growth and religious understanding; offer counseling and spiritual direction; provide the opportunity for inquiry into the Catholic faith; and collaborate with student services and clubs, academic departments, and outside organizations to provide an atmosphere which heightens the university community’s awareness of God at work in our midst.
Christian Life Communities
Fordham’s Christian Life Communities are founded upon the larger Ignatian movement and the three pillars of Faith, Community, and Mission. Small groups of six to ten students meet weekly to nourish and strengthen their faith, form lasting friendships, and live out the Gospel values in everyday life. In addition, all of the small groups gather as one throughout the year for various socials and large-group service projects. Groups are continually forming... Come live in the love! “Conversations” Series
The Office of Campus Ministry provides a forum through which students, faculty, and other members of the university community can discuss issues of timely and spiritual importance. Past topics have included The Da Vinci Code, homosexuality in the priesthood, the relationship between religion and politics, and the Vagina Monologues.
Inquiry into the Catholic Faith
Students seeking more information about the Catholic Church, those wishing to become Catholic, or those seeking to complete the sacraments of baptism, communion, and confirmation may do so through the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) program. Persons who participate in the program gather weekly for prayer and discussion, join in Sunday Mass, and have several opportunities to make retreats.
