Office of Safety and Security

Public Safety is a service-oriented department dedicated to the protection of the life and property of members of the Fordham University Community, their visitors and guests. Please report any suspicious, unusual, or emergency condition immediately. The Main Public Safety Desk is located in the Lowenstein Building at the 60th Street Entrance. We provide very experienced Duty Supervisors, who formerly served as Ranking Officers with the NYPD, to supervise all Security personnel 24 hours a day throughout the year to ensure the highest quality service to the Fordham Community.

Emergencies may be phoned directly into Public Safety via the red-colored phones centrally located at the elevator banks on each floor of Lowenstein. We ask that all faculty, administrators, students, and staff view public safety as a shared responsibility. In partnership with our department, every member of the Fordham community is asked to join in the goal of making our Lincoln Center Campus a safe place to work and study.

Fordham University is committed to the safety and security of members of the Fordham community. As part of this commitment and in fulfillment of our obligations under The Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act, Fordham publishes an annual security and fire safety report. The report contains information about the incidence of fires and certain categories of crime on Fordham campuses as well as important information about Fordham University safety and security policies, tips for staying safe, and important telephone numbers.  The University's Advisory Committee on Campus Safety will provide upon request all campus crime statistics as reported to the U.S. Department of Education.  The campus crime statistics can be found on the U.S. Department of Education's website: www.ed.gov.  Additionally, hard copies of the report are available upon request by contacting the University’s Associate Vice President for Public Safety at 718-817-2222, by writing to the Associate Vice President for Public Safety, Thebaud Annex, Fordham University, 441 East Fordham Rd., Bronx, NY 10458, or on the Fordham University website: http://www.fordham.edu/campus_resources/safety__security/

"If you see something, say something. We are here to serve you."
