Policies and Guidelines for the use of Technology at Fordham University
Information Technology Services of Fordham University has published policies and procedures found at the above website to facilitate the appropriate use of all technology resources by Faculty, Staff, and Students.
The Public Access Lab is located in the Quinn Library in the Lowenstein Building. Here students can utilize both Macintosh and Windows computers. Access is available to a wide range of software, including business applications, programming languages, statistical packages and utilities. Computer Lab Assistants are available to answer any questions.

Fordham University Portal
My.Fordham is the gateway to Fordham's online resources including Blackboard, MyFiles (the University file storage system), campus announcements, your Fordham Gmail and Google Apps, registration, financial aid, bill payment, and academic course information through Banner; the student information system. Tutorials are online to help you navigate and customize your Portal tabs.
IT Support Services
Fordham IT Customer Care (ITCC) provides support to all Fordham University faculty, staff and students. Questions about your computer’s operating system, initial computer setup, software applications, account claiming via my.fordham.edu, e-mail access, or wired and wireless network connections may be directed to ITCC by phone, e-mail or online service request form.

Resident Technology Consultant Program
Students living on campus can contact a Resident Technology Consultant (RTC) for in-room computer and network support. Please visit the above webpage to find out who your RTC is and how to get in contact with them should you need assistance. The RTC can assist you with many of the same issues as the IT Customer Care Centers in addition to:
- Educate residents on all aspects of computing at Fordham University
- Deliver technology related workshops
- Consult with residents on IT related issues
- Support in-room wired and wireless network connections
- Troubleshooting/virus removal on resident computers

Information Technology - Frequently Asked Questions
1. How do I find out my Fordham University E-mail address?
All students have an e-mail account provided by Fordham University. In order to gain access to your account you must claim your AccessIT ID at my.fordham.edu. Your AccessIT ID user-name is your e-mail address; just add ‘@fordham.edu’. Student e-mail is accessible through the University portal at my.fordham.edu.
2. How do students report cable television troubles?
Contact your RTC, call the ITCC at: 718-817-3999, or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
3. Do I need to purchase anti-virus software?
No! The University has licensed Symantec Anti-virus scanning software free for all students to download from our website. You may not be allowed on the Fordham network without university approved anti-virus software, for a list of approved software please visit http://www.fordham.edu/NAC.
4. What do I need to connect to the Fordham University network on campus?
In addition to your AccessIT ID username and password, you will need an ethernet cable to connect your computer to a network data jack in your room or a wireless card to connect to the wireless network when out on campus. The first time you connect to the network you will need to sign in through our Network Access Control software; you will need to renew this connection the 1st of every month. If you need assistance with this please contact one of our IT support services.
5. Do I need to have my own printer?
Most students find it more convenient to have their own printer. Vended printing systems are available in public computing labs and libraries on campus at the cost of five cents a page.
