First Year Resident Core Programming
During the first and second weeks of the Fall Semester, all first year resident students are required to participate in Core Programming sessions covering: Safety and Security, Sexual Assault Education, and Alcohol and Other Drug Education. Fordham University Peer Educators present the Core Programming sessions on alcohol and other drug education.
Over five nights, about 45 Peer Educators facilitate small group conversations covering a wide range of topics including debunking myths related to alcohol use, correcting misperceptions regarding campus-wide patterns of use, reviewing basic facts about common drugs and engaging in a discussion about night life safety tips. Peer Educators conclude their discussion by distributing the Passport: Guide to New York City, which is now in its Twelth Edition.
