Online Housing Lottery

Our ONLINE housing lottery process has begun! Housing Lottery is the process in which current residents in McMahon Hall will select their room placement for the 2014-2015 academic year. Current residents who do not participate in the housing lottery process are NOT guaranteed housing for the 2014-2015 academic year.

Please be advised that ALL housing lottery communication will be sent ONLY to your Fordham e-mail account. Information will be sent to you as new updates become available. It is very important that you continue to check your Fordham e-mail account on a daily basis. If you have a personal e-mail address that you prefer, make sure you forward your Fordham mail to this account.

Important Dates to Remember: (Dates are subject to change)

Phase 1: Deposit Deadline: Tuesday, Feb 18th by 4pm

Current McMahon residents interested in living in McMahon Hall for 2014-2015 must make a $200 housing deposit via by Tuesday, February 18th by 4pm. 

Phase 2: Housing Agreement and Application Wednesday, Feb 19th – Monday, Feb. 24th

Students who completed Phase 1 must confirm their personal information, agree to the Housing Agreement, answer lifestyle questions, provide hall and room type preferences and answer various housing questions via the housing application at during Phase 2. 

            Retention: Tuesday, Feb 25th and Wednesday, Feb 26th

Retention Groups must be created and verified no later than Wednesday, Feb 26th at 10pm. Students applying for room retention will be notified by the Office of Residential Life at Lincoln Center on Thurday, Feb 27 via e-mail if they have been approved or denied for retention.


Distribution of Time Slots:

An individual timeslot will be emailed to every resident who paid a deposit and is eligible to participate in the room selection process. Timeslots will be assigned with priority given based on Graduation Year, with law students picking first, then seniors/juniors, then sophomores, then freshmen. 


Phase 3: Roommate Group Formation Monday, March 3rd – Friday, March 7th

All groups must be created between Monday, March 3rd at 10am and Friday, March 7th at 6pm via

Phase 4: Room Selection Monday, March 10th – Thurs, March 13th

Group Leaders will be responsible for picking apartments for their groups during their assigned time slots. 

  • March 10th- Law student room selection
  • March 11th- Class of 2015 room selection
  • March 12th- Class of 2016 room selection
  • March 13th- Class of 2017 room selection
