Science Integrated Learning Community
Are you considering a pre-health or science major? Are you interested in living on a floor designed to help you succeed in your chosen major, where events and activities related to science are brought right to your floor and where tutors, Resident Assistants and fellow students support one another inside and outside the classroom? The Science Integrated Learning Community (SILC) is that place. A partnership between the Dean's Office of Fordham College at Rose Hill and the Office of Residential Life, the SILC is staffed by two Resident Assistants and two live-in tutors from the pre-health or science programs. Science-focused programming is planned throughout the year:
SILC is offered in two specialized communities for freshman and upperclassmen. SILC for upperclassmen is housed on the 4th floor of O’Hare Hall Residential College. Students interested in participating in SILC II are able to apply during the early part of the spring semester. The application process is in essay form. Questions can be found in the Housing Lottery book which is distributed to all residents prior to the housing lottery process.
