First Year Formation Symposium

General Description

The First Year Formation Symposium course
is designed to increase the student’s success in college by assisting the student in obtaining skills necessary to reach his or her educational objectives. Topics in this course include the academic, social, emotional and health issues important to students as they begin their college careers at Fordham University. We explore skills and strategies involved in successful time management, reading, note-taking, test taking and stress management. We will also address issues related to social, emotional and physical well being. Throughout the course, we will adopt a relatively casual, conversation-based style that will be dependent upon the people in this class to maintain.

Course Purpose
The purpose of the First Year Formation Symposium is to provide an opportunity for students to learn and adopt methods to be successful in college.
