Commuter Student Services

Hey Commuters!

I wanted to extend a warm welcome on behalf of the Office of Commuter Student Services.  I am Caroline Whelan, Assistant Director of Leadership and Commuter Student Services, and am your first stop if you have any questions relating to commuter life at Fordham.  The Office of Commuter Student Services is dedicated to working with the Commuter Student Association to improve your experience at Fordham.

Commuter Student Services is pleased to announce a new program beginning this fall: the Commuter Assistant (CA) program.  We have seven CAs who will be assisting the first year commuters adjust to life at Fordham.  We are excited to have them as part of the planning process and to mentor, guide, and advise our incoming commuters.

Commuter Student Services is responsible for the magazines available in the lounge, as well as the ever-popular “Commuters in the Café,” a program that provides free breakfast to commuters on Tuesday mornings between 9 and 11am.  This year we also worked to make improvements to the Lounge, coming this summer.  Soon you will also be able to find important information on renter’s rights and how to find an apartment online.  Be sure to check out these and other resources on this website.

If you have suggestions for programs or services to enhance your experience as a commuter at Fordham, please feel free to contact me at cwhelan@fordham.edu or come visit me in the Office of Student Leadership and Community Development, McGinley Room 204.

Sincerely,

Caroline Whelan
