F.U.E.L.
Fordham University Emerging Leaders

What is FUEL?

F.U.E.L. is a Spring semester program for a student cohort nominated by faculty, staff and student leaders for displaying their leadership potential or any student just interested in developing their leadership skills further. Participating students come from any class year. Designed for emerging leaders, it consists of workshops and presentations on a variety of topics all aimed at developing leadership skills. These skills will help students to excel in their leadership roles here at Rose Hill and out in the broader community.

How long is the program?
The program offers sessions in the Spring semester from 5:30pm-6:30pm on Tuesdays. At the end of semester there is a special activity/ceremony to honor those students who have attended the majority of F.U.E.L. sessions.

What kinds of sessions and workshops are there?
The Leadership Initiatives Committee purposefully plans the F.U.E.L. schedule with sessions regarding skills they feel are necessary for success at Fordham and beyond. Some sessions presented in the past have been: Leadership & Personality: Myers-Briggs; Fordham, Mission & Me; and creating Community Through Icebreakers.

What do I get out of the program?
Graduates of the program receive a certificate of completion and will have a full skill set to market, as well as a variety of peer, faculty and staff connections to help build your Fordham network.

Who presents FUEL Workshops, Seminars, and Presentations?
Current Student Leaders, Faculty Members, and Administrators present sessions in order to develop personal leadership skills, increase student input and influence in the community, and to create and empower the next generation of student leaders.

Who participates in FUEL?
Students who have demonstrated leadership skills and promise and have been nominated by administrators, faculty, and current student leaders or students whom wish to increase their leadership potential and apply.
Again, students of all class years may apply.
