Opening Day | Sunday August 25, 2013

The New Student Orientation Team is so excited to welcome the incoming class to campus on Sunday, August 25th.

Arriving to campus on Opening Day:
  • Resident Students: All resident students will receive an email detailing their time slot to move into the residence halls on Sunday, August 25th.
  • Commuter Students: Commuter Student check-in takes place from 11am - 1pm in the Welcome Tent outside the McGinley Center.
Throughout Opening Day, there are opportunities for parents and their students to learn more about resources and services available at the institution, check in with Enrollment Services, participate in a  New Student Welcome mass, attend receptions and more. At 6pm on Sunday, August 25th, we respectfully ask that parents leave campus as members of the Class of 2017 meet their Orientation Leaders and New Student Orientation begins.

All residents move in based on their time assignments.

Orientation Leaders will be available all day to answer any questions about Fordham and Orientation.

Bagel Brunch
O’Hare Lawn, Rain Location: O’Keefe Commons
Meet members of Fordham’s administration, faculty and staff while taking a break and a bagel.

10:00am-4:00pm       
Enrollment Group
Thebaud Hall
Staff from Academic Records, Financial Services, Student Accounts, Student Employment, and Undergraduate Admission will be available to answer questions.

10:30am-2:30pm       
Student Services Resource Fair
O’Keefe Commons
The following offices will be available to answer questions: Career Services, Counseling and Psychological Services Disability Services, Health Center, Information Technology (IT), Ramcell, Ram Van, Sodexo, Office of Substance Abuse Prevention and Student Support, RHA Care Package Program.

Commuter Student Registration

Commuter Students receive IDs and all essential Orientation information.

Afternoon Social with the Fordham Community
O’Hare Lawn, Rain Location: O’Keefe Commons
Take a break and meet members of Fordham’s administration, faculty, staff, and Jesuit community while listening to music and enjoying light snacks.

Hughes Hall Meet-and-Greet With Tours
Hughes Hall
Students and families can get to know the Gabelli administrators and faculty, as well as take a tour of the state-of-the-art building.

Commuters! Come meet your Commuter Assistants to obtain important information. Commuter parents will have an opportunity to ask any questions they may have of current students and administrators.

Student Athlete Reception

This session, for freshmen varsity athletes and their parents, will provide insight into the Fordham student athlete experience.

Multicultural Reception

Please come enjoy some refreshments and meet the Office of Multicultural Affairs staff as we welcome all new students.

New Student Orientation Schedule


New Student Orientation takes place from Sunday, August 25th to Tuesday, August 27th. Each incoming student will be placed into a small group led by a team of Orientation Leaders, which will help new students connect with other incoming students and learn all about Fordham University!
