Dr. Barry Robert White is the Director of Bands/Orchestra at Fordham University, New York City. He has been on the faculty of the Oberlin Conservatory of Music as a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Division of Conducting and the Division of Music Education.
As an active professional conductor, clinician and adjudicator in the New York Metropolitan Area, he has conducted ensembles at Oberlin Conservatory, Columbia University, SUNY at Stony Brook, University of Connecticut, the Nassau All-County Honors Ensemble, Div. IV Band as well as for Fredrick Fennel, Vaclav Nelhybel, and Elizabeth Green.
He currently holds positions as Adjudicator of Orchestras and Bands for the New York State School Music Association, Brass Review Editor of the New York State School Music News Magazine, Conducting Workshop Clinician for NYSCAME and Clinician for School Ensembles visiting New York City.
Dr. White's biography was selected for publication in the year 2000s Who's Who in American Teachers. His professional affiliations include membership in the International Conductors Guild, American Symphony Orchestra League, College Music Society, College Band Directors National Association, Music Educators National Conference, New York State School Music Association, International Trumpet Guild, and the American Federation of Musicians, Local 802.
