Fashion for Philanthropy seeks to use the medium of self-expression, a fundamental element of fashion, to express the Jesuit ideals of social responsibility and creative individuality. Fashion for Philanthropy strives to expose students to current issues and trends within the fashion industry. The Jesuit philosophy of being men and women for others has also inspired the club to donate its proceeds to philanthropic organizations such as the Make-A-Wish foundation. The group’s biggest event is a fashion show held every spring showcasing the designs of both Fordham and New York city designers. In past years Fashion for Philanthropy has raised over $5,000, which is used to grant a wish to at least one child and their family in need.
