Developing Future Professionals
The Proud Legacy of FCLC Mock Trial

The Mock Trial Team at FCLC has attracted and developed many talented, dedicated students in its history, many of which have gone on to enjoy great success both in graduate school and as professionals.  This is especially true of those former members that have entered into the legal field following their undergraduate career as valued members of the FCLC Mock Trial Team.  Students who have participated in FCLC Mock Trial as undergraduates have gone on to law school, professional societies, private firms and district attorneys' offices.  Here are just some of the individuals that we are proud to call FCLC Mock Trial alumni. If you have aspirations of success in graduate school and in the professional world, consider joining FCLC Mock Trial and you may one day have the honor of joining this prestigious list.

"Mock Trial has been extremely helpful in my career thus far; it's where I improved the courtroom decorum skills I first learned in high school mock trial. FCLC Mock Trial is where I gained the foundation I needed for working comfortably with the Rules of Evidence, writing and making openings/closings and witness examinations, objections, littanies for entering in evidence or impeaching a witness, and other trial techniques. I think that trial attorneys who have competed in competitions at the collegiate level have an obvious advantage over those attorneys that have had no informal or competitive training in trial work." -Amanda Doherty

"For starters, I found mock trial to be very helpful in regards to preparing me for law school. It helped me to think on my feet and to apply what I learned in a high pressured situation.
Many people have this incorrect notion that the law is simple and that to be a good lawyer you only need to spit back what you have memorized. Mock trial truly shows that knowing the rules is never enough and that a case is never so simple.  Mock trial also helped me learn how to have fun with the law, and to be creative. Mock Trial taught me to take risks and forced me to perform and push myself despite feeling terrified." -Domna Antoniadis

"Mock Trial has really helped me hone my courtroom demeanor. First year law students must present an appellate level oral argument as part of our lawyering skills requirement and the feedback I got from my professor was really great.
