Founded in 1981, The Observer is Fordham University's award winning student newspaper. Based at the Lincoln Center campus, The Observer is written and run mainly by students of Fordham College at Lincoln Center but also welcomes contributions from students in all divisions of the University.
The Observer provides opportunities to gain valuable experience in news, feature, sports and arts reporting, as well as editorial and commentary writing. In addition, more experience can be gained through the photography, layout, online and business departments.
Students who have participated in The Observer over the years have used their experience to obtain successful internships at major television news organizations, newspapers and magazines. Observer alumni have went on to become everything from professional journalists and lawyers to novelists and teachers.
The Observer is published every other week. The online edition, as well as contact information, is available at www.fordhamobserver.com.
