Counseling & Psychological Services (CPS) at Fordham University
Counseling and Psychological Services is a comprehensive mental health service within the Department of Student Affairs at Fordham University. Our mission is to promote the health and wellness of the Fordham student body in a manner consistent with the university’s mission to value the dignity and uniqueness of each person. Through the provision of high quality counseling that is free and confidential, CPS strives to assist and support students in recognizing, understanding and solving a wide range of psychological problems. No matter how big or small the issue, CPS is here to help!
CPS is an active participant on campus providing workshops, education and outreach to students, and consultations to administrators, faculty and parents. Collaboration also extends beyond Fordham to include strong affiliations with community agencies and universities that enable us to offer the most personalized care and referral services. In addition, CPS is a premier training center for mental health professionals with an emphasis on self-reflection, consultation and continuous learning.
CPS will continue our evolution into a culturally competent counseling center within the Fordham community that is international in its scope and aspirations. From the base of strong partnerships, CPS works proactively to understand and address the mental health concerns of a culturally and ethnically diverse student body that lives in a contemporary and changing world. To achieve this vision, CPS is committed to on-going needs assessment and program evaluation to insure that our services are accessible and welcoming to all Fordham students.
