Federal Direct Graduate PLUS Loan

Apply for a Graduate PLUS Loan

You must complete the FAFSA, Master Promissory Note (MPN) and Entrance Counseling Session in order to receive a Graduate PLUS Loan. Students who borrowed Graduate PLUS Loans at Fordham since the 2010-2011 academic year do NOT have to complete another MPN or Entrance Counseling Session.

Based upon the student's credit worthiness, a student may borrow up to their cost of attendance minus all other aid in a Graduate PLUS Loan. Click here for details on the credit criteria needed to get approved.
  • ALL students should use their full Federal Direct Unsubsidized Loan eligibility first before applying for a Graduate PLUS Loan. The Federal Direct Unsubsidized loan has a lower interest rate and a portion of it can be subsidized while you are in school.
  • If your enrollment is less than half-time, and you are involved in degree requirements, dissertation, or field work, and are requesting a loan for that term, you must complete a Matriculated Student Status Certification with the head of your department and the Registrar's Office.

Interest Rate : 7.9%

Origination Fees: 4%
