Gabelli Info for International Students
There are some special application requirements for international students. You should pay close attention to the information on this page if you:
- Completed your undergraduate education outside the United States
- Completed your undergraduate education in a language other than English
Special application deadlines for international students:
International students who will need an F-1 Student Visa should apply for programs that begin in the fall term—or, for programs where it is an option, the spring term. We advise against applying for programs that begin in the summer term.
International applicants are highly encouraged to submit their completed applications as early as possible, but in no event later than the deadline. International students must submit their application one month prior to deadlines listed.
Interviews:
An interview is required of all international students. Once you start your application, the Admissions Office will contact you regarding the interview. These can be done via Skype or other videoconference technologies for applicants who live far from New York City.
English translations:
All application materials that are not in English, such as university transcripts and letters of recommendation, must be accompanied by a certified translation.
Transcript evaluations:
Applicants whose undergraduate or graduate studies were taught in a non-United States university are also required to submit an official transcript evaluation of their undergraduate and graduate transcripts. Exceptions are made for institutions in Canada, Australia, Ireland, and the United Kingdom. We will accept evaluations from World Education Services (WES), Educational Credential Evaluators (ECE) or any NACES organization member.
Visa requirements:
Full-time students who will require an F-1 Student Visa or J-1 Visa must submit a notarized Affidavit of Support accompanied by original documentation that supports the information on the affidavit. Supporting documentation includes personal bank statements, bank letters, sponsorships, or financial awards. These documents must be accompanied by a certified translation.
Standardized Testing: English language proficiency
Applicants will need to provide an English-language test score from TOEFL, IELTS, Duolingo English Test (DET), or PTE Academic if English is not their native language, unless: (1) you’ve earned an undergraduate or graduate degree at a U.S. college or university, (2) your education was completed exclusively in English in an English-speaking country; click here to view the list of countries accepted, or (3) you received an undergraduate or graduate degree from a university in India. (In some cases, we may request language proficiency test scores.)
Please note the school code for each test below.
