John L. Lumelleau, FCRH ’74, and Loretta Franklin Lumelleau
Over the past few decades, John and Loretta Lumelleau have contributed generously to Fordham as well as a range of other institutions and causes that help young people develop their full potential and thrive. Giving through various means, they have shown strong support for programs across the University, including athletics, and made lasting contributions to the Fordham student experience.
John Lumelleau is a retired president and CEO of the Lockton Companies, an insurance brokerage, who has served on the Fordham University President’s Council and, since 2018, on the University’s Board of Trustees. Loretta Lumelleau, a graduate of Lehman College, worked in publishing and taught in New York City schools—both public and private—before retiring to raise the couple’s three children. Their giving has benefited the football program and other athletics programs, as well as the Fordham Founder’s Undergraduate Scholarship Fund, the Student Emergency Fund, and other funds. John and Loretta have supported the Boys & Girls Clubs and Big Brothers Big Sisters organizations in the Kansas City area, where they formerly lived. They have also devoted time and treasure to advancing the Bronx high schools from which they graduated—All Hallows High School and Monsignor Scanlan High School, respectively, which send students from underrepresented backgrounds to some of the top universities in the country, including Fordham.
