Phase Three: Develop Implementation Plan

The Phase Three committee—consisting of six faculty from Arts and Sciences and three faculty from the Gabelli School of Business—will determine the policies, oversight, and administrative structure for the new Core Curriculum.. 

The committee’s work includes: 

• set clear governance and oversight for the different parts of the core, such as the first-year courses and experiences, the Core Inquiry courses, and the Senior Core Capstone seminar
• develop plans for advising, transfer-credit rules, the transition from the current core to the new core, and a future amendment process so the core can continue to be assessed and improved over time
• establish the structures and processes by which specific courses are approved as fulfilling individual core requirements

The committee's work will begin in the fall of 2026 and continue into 2027, with the rollout of the revised core beginning for first-year students entering in fall 2028.
