Anthony Grono
Interim Vice President for Finance
In his capacity as interim vice president for finance, Anthony Grono manages the University’s principal finance and treasury operations, including financial planning and analysis, accounting services, post-award grant management, strategic sourcing, accounts payable, payroll, travel and expense, treasury and risk, office services, and internal audit areas. With the senior vice president, chief financial officer, and treasurer, Grono also works closely with the endowment and human resources management functions.
A Fordham graduate from the sesquicentennial class of 1991, Grono has dedicated more than two decades to Fordham University. He cites the influence of many outstanding Fordham faculty for his body of knowledge, and actively integrates Jesuit values into his management style by attending trainings such as the Jesuit Leadership Seminar. After earning his bachelor’s degree, Grono worked in public accounting, handling clients in construction, manufacturing, financial institutions, private equity funds, and trading companies. In 2002, he returned to Fordham as the director of internal audit, was quickly promoted to controller, and has been associate vice president for finance and controller since 2016.
Grono is a licensed New York State Certified Public Accountant and Chartered Global Management Accountant. He is affiliated with the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants.
