Donna Lehmann

Interim Vice President for Marketing and Communications

Donna Lehmann was most recently associate vice president for marketing. In that role, she led the University’s centralized marketing team serving enrollment, fundraising, alumni relations, and various other departments and divisions. She joined Fordham University in 2013 to lead a comprehensive website redesign and head a new online communications team. She was promoted in 2016 to senior director of marketing and to assistant vice president in 2017. As interim vice president, she oversees a full-service marketing and communications unit charged with raising Fordham’s brand awareness, engaging alumni and donors, and supporting enrollment with innovative marketing and advertising strategies.

Lehmann began her higher education career as a media relations associate at Yeshiva University, but was soon hired at the Fashion Institute of Technology to oversee online communications on the college website. She was part of the first wave of web professionals to begin to focus on best practices in digital communications in the late 1990s and has grown up with the internet, expanding her knowledge to digital marketing, search engine optimization, and social media advertising. She has taught and written on these topics for higheredexperts.com and Inside Higher Education.

Raised in western Kansas, she earned a B.A. in English and an M.A. in American literature from Kansas State University. She also completed coursework toward a Ph.D. in early American literature at the University of Delaware. She lives in Brooklyn with her husband and two children.
