Community Partner: CRISPAZ

Description:
GO! El Salvador will partner with CRISPAZ (Christians for Peace in El Salvador) to learn about the history of the Salvadoran Civil War, the US involvement in the country, and the current realities and social justice issues resulting from it today. The team also will locations of historical significance and participates in a homestay with Salvadoran families in a rural village. -
Community Partner: Caribbean Social Immersion Program (CSIP)

Description:
GO! Dominican Republic is a learning project where students will have the opportunity to work closely with the Caribbean Social Immersion Program. The Caribbean Social Immersion Program creates “all-inclusive” and customized social immersion, academic and service experiences in the Dominican Republic. With this program the GO! DR team will learn about migration, Ignatian spirituality/religion in the Dominican Republic, binational relations between Haiti and DR, and environmental justice in the aftermath of hurricane Ian. -
Community Partner: Enlaces Comunitarios Internacionales

Description:
GO! Mexico will be working with Enlaces Comunitarios Internacionales, based in Puebla, Mexico. Enlaces is a community-run sustainability organization seeking to empower local farmers through sustainable ecological practices. Throughout our formation, the team will be learning about sustainability movements in Mexico, while engaging with the vibrant Mexican community here in New York City. -
Community Partner: My Brother's Workshop & Catholic Charities

Description:
The GO! St. Thomas team will partner with My Brother's Workshop, a local nonprofit that serves at-risk young people in the US Virgin Islands by offering mentoring, counseling, paid job training, education, and job placement. They've been fortunate to have the opportunity to build a new main campus for their programming and have asked GO! St. Thomas to support them in this endeavor by helping with outdoor maintenance. The team's assistance will make a difference in the lives of all the youth impacted by this organization and create a better future. Additionally, GO! St. Thomas will be meeting with Catholic Charities, to learn about the service work the organization does across the Virgin Islands and will be joining them for different outreach projects. -
Community Partner: Kino Border Initiative
Dates: January 10-16, 2023
Student Leader: Brennan Connell
Description:
GO! Kino Border will be partnering with the Kino Borders Initiative (KBI), a bi-national, Jesuit organization based in Nogales, Arizona and Nogales, Mexico. KBI provides humanitarian aid to Mexican migrants and refugees and is committed to a social and pastoral education for its members. Throughout the team's formation, they will be learning about the difficulties that immigrants face at the southern border, while embracing Jesuit humanitarian values. The GO! Kino Border team will accompany migrants and listen to their stories and the stories of many other actors in the complex networks of migration that meet in Nogales, speaking to ranchers, border patrol agents, judges from Operation Streamline, and others.

Working with Olancho Aid, the GO! Honduras team will be working with children in an after-school program, while participating in a series of educational access conversations. -
Community Partner: Fordham London Center & the Laudato Si Research Institute

Description:
Working primarily with Catholic and Jesuit social apostolates, the GO! London team will be volunteering at meal distribution services, participating in carbon counting projects with the Laudato Si institute, and visiting Fordham’s London Center. -
Community Partner: Friends of Puerto Rico
Dates: March 11-18, 2023

Description:
Working with Friends of Puerto Rico, the GO! Puerto Rico team will be doing service work at Panorama Farm, learning best practices for coffee farming and having advocacy-rooted conversations about economic justice. -

Community Partner: The Industrial Commons

Description:
Working with the Industrial Commons, the GO! North Carolina team will be working with sustainable circular economic models through the examples of various textile mills, working primarily with Venezuelan and Hmong immigrant communities. This team is entirely comprised of Ignite Scholars, from the Gabelli School of Business. -

Working with CRISPAZ, the GO! El Salvador Spring team will be following in the footsteps of the Jesuit martyrs, meeting with migration advocacy organizations, and action-planning ways to continue to bring the truth to our Jesuit educational model. This team is entirely comprised of students from the Curran Center for American Catholic Studies.
