Danie Taylor (He/They) is a designer, educator and producer. They are an active advocate for trans rights and social justice. Danie has led panel discussions at USITT with other trans artists advocating for an expansion of awareness and accommodations within the theater industry. At Fordham he has led faculty and student groups in Anti-Racism and social justice. In 2020 he helped found a theater company that stages backyard bar takeovers in Brooklyn and blends Shakespeare’s works with contemporary music; A Pop Punk Midsummer Night’s Dream and Romeo & Juliet & Weezer. In total Danie has over 30 professional Shakespeare productions on their resume including; The Winter’s Tale, Much Ado About Nothing, Comedy of Errors (Arkansas Shakespeare Theater), Richard III, Twelfth Night (Theater at Monmouth). Contemporary works include; The Bigot (Off-Broadway), 3 Days of Rain, She Kills Monsters, The Mousetrap, The Rabbit Hole and Next to Normal. Danie served as the Lighting Director at Arkansas Shakespeare Theater for 3 seasons. They were the house electrician at Shreveport Convention Center and supervised touring installs for; Modest Mouse, The Blue Man Group, Marilyn Manson, and more. Danie is an active part of Brooklyn’s Punk Rock scene designing music videos and shows for local favorites Fat Heaven and Night Spins.  You can also see Danie’s work monthly at Duane Park Burlesque.
