Regina Lee Hall

Doctor of Fine Arts

Regina Lee Hall, an actor, producer, storyteller, and proud daughter of Fordham’s Class of 1992, has captivated global audiences with performances that sparkle with wit, depth, and unmistakable authenticity. From independent features to box office hits, she embodies characters with a generosity of spirit that invites us to laugh, to reflect, and to confront hard truths about identity, justice, and belonging.

Guided by a faith that shapes both her art and her life, Ms. Hall lifts voices too often unheard and shines a humane light on issues central to Fordham’s mission—wisdom joined to compassion, justice strengthened by hope. Her colleagues praise her as “a phenomenal actress” and “a force,” noting not only her talent but also her grace, resilience, and unwavering commitment to stories that matter.

Through every role and every act of advocacy, she demonstrates how creativity can serve the common good, modeling for our graduates the courage to let their gifts serve something larger than themselves.

For her remarkable and inspirational talent; her enduring contributions to film, television, and culture; and her compassionate advocacy, we, the President and Trustees of Fordham University, in solemn convocation assembled and in accord with the chartered authority bestowed on us by the Regents of the University of the State of New York, declare Regina Lee Hall Doctor of Fine Arts, honoris causa. That she may enjoy all rights and privileges of this, our highest honor, we have issued these letters patent under our hand and the corporate seal of the University on this, the 17th day of May in the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Twenty-Five.
