  • Adam Gjesdal is joining the Law and Ethics program as a Visiting Assistant Professor. He previously taught at Chapman University and received his Ph.D. in philosophy from the University of Arizona. His areas of specialization are political philosophy and normative ethics. Dr. Gjesdal is particularly interested in how our shared political institutions should respond to the fact of deep moral diversity that is a permanent feature of free societies. He is currently applying these insights from political philosophy to the study of private firms to better understand why diverse businesses sometimes outperform their more homogenous peers. His work has appeared in leading journals that include the Journal of the American Philosophical Association, Journal of Ethics and Social Philosophy, The Independent Review, and Australasian Journal of Philosophy
