Mission and History

Founded in 2004 by journalists Peter Steinfels and Margaret O’Brien Steinfels, the Center on Religion and Culture (CRC) sponsors a wide array of public programs which draw large audiences from across the New York metro area and beyond.

CRC is committed to advancing a critical understanding of how faith traditions engage with contemporary issues, and to underscoring the place of religion and religious institutions in public life today.

CRC is a division of Mission Integration and Planning.
