IALC 2301: Intermediate Integrated English Skills

Learn to write complex sentences, give short presentations, and produce cohesive paragraphs and short papers. Emphasis is placed on grammatical accuracy, error recognition, and correct pronunciation. (CEFR A2-B1)

IALC 2302: Proficient Integrated English Skills

Exercise your writing, speaking, listening, and grammar skills while investigating topics of interest and developing a documentary video. (CEFR B1-B2)

IALC 2305: English for NY Environment

Learn historic, artistic, touristic sites in New York and learn vocabulary words and expressions that are used in the environment. (CEFR B1-B2)

IALC 2406: Social Issues in America

Deepen your knowledge of American history and society through selected critical readings, field trips and discussion. Students produce short opinion papers and gain greater insight into the nuances and contradictions of Social issues in America. Class runs on Mondays only. (CEFR A2-B1)

IALC 2409: NYC: Issues and Events

Students will explore current issues related to the politics, culture, faiths and people of one of the world’s most fascinating and recognized urban centers. (CEFR B2-C1)

IALC 2410: Introduction to Intercultural Communication

Acquire basic concepts, skills, and strategies to identify and manage cultural and academic expectations in the US. Class runs on Mondays only. (CEFR B2-C1)

 

IALC 2309: English for Visual Art

Students will have an opportunity to visit a series of art institutions, archives, and visit a professional artist studio in Manhattan. Readings and writings on contemporary art, art history, and the history of New York City will accompany a student compiled digital notebook. Class runs on Thursdays only. (CEFR A2-C1)

Pronunciation Workshop

Pronunciation Workshop provides an intensive review of English grammar for learners at all levels. Open to all currently enrolled IALC and Fordham students. (Mixed Levels)
