CIS Lecturer and Adjunct Positions

The department invites applications for a full-time lecturer position and multiple adjunct positions to start in Spring 2023.

Full-time Lecturer Position:

  • Incumbent is expected to teach 4 courses on-campus during Spring 2023. The course list includes:
    • Undergraduate classes: C++ Programming, Data Structures, Operating Systems
    • Graduate classes: Data Structures, Internet and Web Programming
      All graduate courses and some undergraduate courses are offered in the evening and meet once a week. All classes are capped at thirty.

There is no research expectation as this is primarily a teaching position. Additional expectations include service to the program, department, and the School as assigned by the Chair.

  • The position requires a M.S. or higher degree in Computer Science or related fields, a commitment to teaching excellence, and good communication skills.

Adjunct Positions:

  • Incumbents are expected to teach up to 2 courses per semester (on-campus or non-online or in dual modality) during Spring 2023. The course list includes:
    • Undergraduate classes: C++ Programming, Data Structures, Operating Systems
    • Graduate classes: Data Structures, Internet and Web Programming
      All graduate courses and some undergraduate courses are offered in the evening and meet once a week. All classes are capped at thirty.
  • The positions require a M.S. in Computer Science or related fields, or B.S. with relevant industrial or teaching experience, a commitment to teaching excellence, and excellent communication skills.

Compensation: As per the current Collective Bargaining Agreement, $7,000 per course (subject to change upon ratification of a new CBA).
