Business Analyst Intern

DIVISION: Information Architecture (IA). The IA department of Fordham IT provides business analysis services and delivers technology solutions to support the Fordham University community.

POSITION: Business Analyst Intern

SUPERVISOR: Area Manager


Fordham IT seeks a dynamic self-starter experienced with the development of high-quality software documentation in the form of requirements, systems and training publications. You will join a collaborative team of business analysts and technologists to gain an understanding of university processes with an emphasis on supporting the evolving suite of products that fortify growing university needs.


  • Must be a full-time Fordham student in good academic standing
  • Reliable quick learner who can work with minimal supervision
  • Must uphold, enforce and abide by all university policies
  • Possess strong writing skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of tools, including PowerPoint; knowledge of Visio would be helpful
  • Willing to work on a variety of projects


  • Work with internal teams to obtain an understanding of the software product as well as the documentation requirements
  • Analyze existing and potential content for reuse or rewrite as appropriate
  • Produce documentation that meets applicable standards and is appropriate for its intended audience
  • Write easy-to-understand user interface text, online help and/or developer guides as needed
  • Create tutorials to educate end-users with applications
  • Collaborate with the team on new ideas, directions, and venues for value-add publishing
  • Other duties as assigned


  • An effective communicator with strong writing skills
  • Self-motivated, good organizational skills, detail-oriented, ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines
  • On time for appointments, responds promptly to emails, text messages and is dependable


  • Experience in working for an IT organization
  • Enhancement of your work portfolio
  • Employment references from an IT organization

COMPENSATION: $17.00 per hour
