POSITION: Instructional Technologist Assistant

SUPERVISOR: Senior Instructional Technologist

SUMMARY

We are looking for a part-time student worker to help in the Faculty Technology Center at Lincoln Center, with the main responsibility of creating and editing content in the areas of faculty development, emerging technology, and digital citizenship. The candidate needs to have a genuine interest in learning and technology, have excellent written and oral communication skills, and have some experience with design and media creation. Training will be provided.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be a registered Fordham University student in good standing
  • Graphic Design and Media Creation background and/or experience
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong presentation and training skills
  • Experience with graduate-level coursework or academic support
  • Genuine interest in technology; stays informed of the latest tech advances

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist with Blackboard day-to-day work.
  • Create and update online course materials, ensuring accessibility and user-friendly design.
  • Support analytics and website maintenance.
  • Create/format PowerPoint presentations with visuals/animations.
  • Create/edit images, videos, flyers, infographics, and emails.
  • Assist in managing faculty workshops and events.
  • Research academic websites for ideas and best practices.
  • Interact and communicate with peers for collaborative ideas.
  • Assist in the development and execution of surveys to gather feedback on workshops and events.
  • Participate in webinars or training sessions to enhance skills related to Blackboard and analytics.
  • Provide technical support to faculty and students using Blackboard and other online tools

TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE (Training Provided)

  • Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Proficient in Google Suite (Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides)
  • Web development skills (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP)
  • Graphic design proficiency (Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
  • IT troubleshooting and technical support expertise
  • Familiarity with audio/image/video formats and compression settings
  • Basic knowledge of Photoshop/Illustrator (or similar software) required

COMPENSATION: $16.00 per hour
