Damian Grady: President, SVAF

Damian Grady, President of Student Veterans of America at Fordham.

Damian is a navy veteran studying Real Estate in the Fordham PCS program and planning to have a career in Investment Banking after graduation. Prior to enrolling at Fordham University, Damian was enlisted as a Hospital Corpsman and spent the majority of his military career stationed at Joint Base Pearl Harbor Hawaii. His goal as SVAF president is to assist fellow veterans transitioning from their military service to their college career by providing the appropriate resources and mentorship to help them succeed not just in their professional development but their personal development as well.


Miguel Pinto: V.P. of Graduate Relations, SVAF

Miguel Pinto, Vice President of Graduate Relations for Student Veterans of America at Fordham.

Miguel Pinto is a first-generation immigrant from Peru. He enlisted in the Navy for four years, graduated from John Jay School of Criminal Justice, and is currently serving in the United States Marine Corps Reserve as a Logistics Officer. Presently, he is a full-time student in the MBA program studying Management and Finance. He plans to be the bridge and the missing piece for veterans transitioning into a graduate program. One of his goals is to focus on the needs of specific graduate programs, networking, coordinating SVAF projects, and volunteering events.


Danny Slowinski: V.P. Undergraduate Relations, SVAF

Danny Slowinski

Danny is a student veteran currently pursuing an Information Technology degree at Fordham PCS. He served in the Marines as a KC-130T flight mechanic and loadmaster, flying to over 45 states and 8 countries. He is planning on attending law school after completion of his degree with the intent to practice intellectual property law, as well as creating an organization to assist veterans in legal matters. He looks forward to helping the veteran community become a stronger presence at Fordham University.


Delali Ofori: V.P. of Finance, SVAF

Delali Ofori, Vice President of Finance for Student Veterans of America at Fordham.

Delali Ofori is an economics major at Fordham University in the PCS program, He will be pursuing an M.B.A upon graduation. Prior to Fordham University,  Delali spent four years as an active duty Marine, where he served in Okinawa Japan, and New Jersey. Delali’s goal in SVAF leadership is to continue the camaraderie and family environment veterans miss after service.


Mike Messina: V.P. of Communications

Mike Messina, Vice President of Communications for Student Veterans of America at Fordham.

Mike is a Marine Corps Veteran studying Communications at Fordham University and will be graduating in May. He currently works for WFUV Sports and is an intern at NBCUniversal. Prior to college, Mike was an infantryman in 3rd Battalion 6th Marines at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. His goal as V.P of Communications is to engage the Student Veterans in our events and make sure everybody’s transition is seamless.
