Journalism Concentration

 

Journalism concentrators will gain:

  • knowledge of the workings and history of commercial and non-profit media
  • deep knowledge of journalistic norms and ethical standards
  • a complete palette of multimedia reporting skills, including social media journalism, data journalism and data visualization

 

Students choose two courses for six credits. Recently offered courses include:

  • PMMA 6101 - Audio Narrative (reporting and production)
  • PMMA 6103 - Data Journalism and Interactive Graphics
  • PMMA 6108 - Advanced Interviews and Profiles
  • PMMA 6110 - Digital Storytelling
