MS Accounting Program Overview

“Paying it forward” may be the most valuable accounting technique taught in our MSA program.

Lots of graduate programs teach the basics of accounting. The BS/MS Program in Accounting offered to Gabelli School undergraduate students, offers something even more valuable: access to a network of active, supportive alumni who are committed to helping you succeed.

In addition to our engaged alumni network, the Gabelli School MSA draws on a faculty made up largely of working professionals. You will attend frequent seminars led by specialists in the field, and your assignments will be judged by executives from prominent accounting firms—a great way to see how you’ll perform in the real world.

For Gabelli School students, the MSA may supplement an undergraduate degree in public accounting, applied accounting and finance, or accounting information systems to meet the 150-credit-hour educational requirement for the New York State CPA examination.

Finally, technical knowledge will only get you so far in this field. Accountants who also have communication and critical-thinking skills will enjoy more rewarding career opportunities. The Gabelli School MSA is unique in providing these “soft” skills, which are indispensable in today’s corporate world.
