Commuter and Transfer Summer Engagement Program

The 2020 Commuter and Transfer Summer Engagement program will take place on Thursday, August 13th and is sponsored by Commuter Student Services and New Student Orientation. Please note:The event is open to Rose Hill commuter class of 2024 and commuter transfer students only.

Registration Instructions: 

  1. We are utilizing Zoom as our platform for our virtual Commuter and Transfer Summer Engagement Program
  2. Scroll down to the presentation(s) you wish to attend and then register for each session that pertains to you by clicking on the Zoom link. 
  3. Zoom will ask you a series of questions that you will need to answer in order to register for each session.
  4. You may register yourself for each session. If you are a family member and would like to attend, please register yourself as well. Please limit the amount of registrations per household to two (2) people. Please email commutersrh@fordham.edu  if you have a concern.
  5. Registration is required so that we have an accurate headcount for Zoom capacity needs.

First Year Commuter 101: Tips & Tricks from Commuter Student Leaders: 12:00 p.m.

Join the discussion with our commuter assistant panel to hear about their first-year experience and their tips/tricks about commuting to campus!

Commuter Assistant Breakout Sessions (Student Section): 1:00 p.m.

 

In order to help commuter students acclimate to life at Fordham, each first-year student is assigned a Commuter Assistant. This will be an opportunity for commuter students to meet with their CA and ask any questions they may have!

Commuting Students Association (Student Section): 2:00 p.m.

The Commuting Students Association is the governing body that represents and serves the commuting students of Fordham College at Rose Hill. Through its programs and services, CSA helps commuting students to interact with one another and the rest of the University community. Join the 2020-2021 Executive Board to learn more about student leadership opportunities and how to run for the Freshmen senate!  

Rams Involved! Student Life at the Rose Hill Campus (Student and Family Section): 3:00 p.m.

Join Francesca Leite, Assistant Director for Student Organizations and Programming, and United Student Government Leadership to learn more about the 130+ student clubs on campus and how to get involved!  

Commuter Student Services Overview (Family Section) with Q&A: 4:00 p.m.

Join Stephen Esposito, the Assistant Director for Leadership and Commuter Student Services, to learn about the assistance our area offers the 2,700 commuter students at the Rose Hill campus. This workshop will cover the following:

  • Parking and Transportation

  • Student Lounges, Computer/Printer Access, Microwaves, Locker Rentals

  • Commuter Friendly Events

  • Commuter Covid FAQ

Transfer Student Experience Q&A (Student and Family Section): 5:00 p.m.

Commuter Transfer students and families will have the opportunity to meet with Upperclassmen Transfer Orientation Leaders (FCRH and Gabelli)  to have their questions answered!
