Introductory Periods and Probation Periods

Introductory Periods

Hiring Managers must complete an Employee Introductory Form for all new administrators as the first six months of employment comes to an end. This applies not only to University new hires, but to anyone who enters into a new administrative position.

Human Resources will send you a form as the end of the six-month period approaches, but you may also access the form for review prior to completion or print out a new form if you make a mistake or lose the original one sent to you.

There may be instances when you do not receive the form from Human Resources because we have incorrect "Reports to" information, we do not have your updated office location or you are away at the time. If you do not receive an Employee Introductory Form for your new administrative employee at the six-month mark, please complete the form and send it into Human Resources, FMH 506.

Probation Periods

Hiring Managers must complete an Employee Probation Form for all new clerical and maintenance employees as the first 60 working days of employment comes to an end. This applies not only to University new hires, but to anyone who transfers into a new clerical or maintenance position.

Human Resources will send you a form as the end of the 60 working days approaches, but you may also access the form for review prior to completion or print out a new form if you make a mistake or lose the original one sent to you.

There may be instances when you do not receive the form from Human Resources because we have incorrect "Reports to" information, we do not have your updated office location or you are away at the time. If you do not receive an Employee Introductory Form for your new clerical or  maintenance employee at the 60 working day mark, please complete the form and send it into Human Resources, FMH 506.
