For last-minute cancellations, contact the Registrar's Office at 212-636-6800 to get a notification posted online or to send an automated voicemail to your students.
In rare cases of emergencies or poor weather conditions, you can check for campus-wide closing notifications on the general website, in your email inbox, or using the hotlines below:
Weather-Related and Other Unscheduled Building Closures
When the University closes the Law School building for weather-related or other reasons, no classes will be held on campus. Online classes will proceed as planned, and classes scheduled to meet in person will generally be shifted to online formats at their originally scheduled times. In some instances, an instructor may choose to reschedule a class rather than to hold it online. Upon receiving word that the building is closed, instructors should immediately alert students about plans to hold class remotely or any alternative arrangements.

Many of the Law School's adjunct professors are practitioners or have current or recent ties to the practitioner community. Students frequently benefit from discussions with adjunct professors about career options. This is one of the many ways in which the adjunct faculty serves as a valuable function to the student body. If you become aware of employment opportunities or are yourself in a position to offer employment to a Fordham Law student, please contact the Career Planning Center at [email protected] or post a job in the Online Job Bank at http://law.fordham.edu/postajob. Each May, the adjunct faculty is also invited to volunteer to become an Adjunct Professor Advisor to a graduating JD student.
If you consult with students, particularly to the extent you are in a position to guide or recommend for employment only certain members of your class, please consider whether it may be appropriate to wait until the semester concludes and grades for the class have been submitted, so as to ensure parity amongst all students.
Please keep in mind that a Day Division student may not be employed more than 20 hours per week in any semester in which the student in enrolled in more than 12 credits. Full-time students must sign a statement to this effect every time they register, and students who violate this regulation are subject to disciplinary action.
The main entrance to the Law School is located at 150 West 62nd Street, between Amsterdam and Columbus Avenues. An alternative entrance is through the Lowenstein Building entrance at the corner of 60th Street and Columbus Avenue.
If you are an Adjunct teaching a Clinical, Legal Writing, or LLM course, please check with those departments for alternative resources or instructions.
