Fordham's new summer study abroad program in Bogotá, Colombia offers students the opportunity to study international and comparative law alongside students from Colombia and around the world, and experience Colombia’s inception and importance as a strategic center for business and development throughout Latin America first-hand. Held at the law school of the Universidad de los Andes (Uniandes), the program has been approved by the ABA to award up to six credits: 3-credits over two weeks of classroom instruction with Fordham and Uniandes Law Faculty; and an additional 3-credits through optional follow-on internships with the Colombian judicial service, government agencies, non-governmental organizations and private law firms. The program is limited to 30 students and open to American law students as well as law students and professionals from around the world, so participants live and study with Colombian and other international students and practitioners. The program also organizes field trips to Colombian law institutions, formal and informal social events, and optional visits to historic and cultural attractions outside the capital.
