Campion Institute Fellowships

Overview:

Each year, the Campion Institute offers special competitive awards to students who will be competing for the most competitive external scholarships and fellowships (i.e., the Rhodes, Marshall, Gates Cambridge, Fulbright, Truman, Goldwater).

These special awards, presented at the end of the spring semester, provide a select group of students with the opportunity to build their research histories and gain experience that will strengthen their applications to the major external award competitions.

Award Details:

Our summer program, open both to undergraduate and graduate students, offers varying levels of awards. The specific terms of each award are determined on a case-by-case basis, usually a small stipend, summer housing, or a combination of both.

Campion Undergraduate Summer Scholarship: If you are an undergraduate student with a cumulative GPA of 3.8 or above and are planning to apply for a major external award, you may be eligible for our Campion Undergraduate Summer Scholarship. Graduating seniors are eligible for summer housing only—if they are applying to the British fellowship programs -- and they are generally ineligible for stipends. Download the application.

Matteo Ricci Undergraduate Summer Scholarship: If you are an undergraduate with a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or above and are planning to apply for a major external award, you may be eligible for a Matteo Ricci Undergraduate Summer Scholarship (summer housing or a small stipend). Download the application.

Matteo Ricci Graduate Summer Fellowship: If you are a graduate student with a cumulative GPA of 3.8 or above and are planning to apply for a major external award, you may be eligible for a Matteo Ricci Graduate Summer Fellowship (normally a small stipend). Download the application.

Eligibility:

Open to current Fordham students with outstanding academic records and a history of service to the community.

All summer fellowship applications require a letter of support from a faculty mentor who will be supervising your work.

Applications may be obtained from the Office of Prestigious Fellowships. Completed application packets must be submitted to our offices, either at Rose Hill (Thebaud Hall, Room 108) or at Lincoln Center (45 Columbus Ave, Room 711).

All summer projects are subject to the approval of the Campion’s Summer Fellowship Selection Committee.
