Highlights

2017

At the America Trophy, the MAISA Coed Dinghy Spring Championship, Fordham finishes 3rd (its best finish in program history) and qualifies for National Semifinals for the 5th straight year. In the Eastern Semifinal bracket, Fordham finishes 5th, earning their 3rd straight berth to the Coed National Championship. At Nationals, the Rams finish 7th overall, their best finish in program history. Will Holz ’17 and Charlotte Leclue ’19 finish 5th in A division.

At the MAISA Women’s Championship, Fordham finishes 7th, qualifying for Women’s National Semifinals for the 3rd time in four years. In the Eastern Semifinal bracket, the Rams finish 10th, narrowly missing a qualifying spot to Finals.

2016

At the America Trophy, the MAISA Coed Dinghy Spring Championship, Fordham finishes 7th and qualifies for National Semifinals for the 4th straight year. In the Eastern Semifinal bracket, Fordham finishes 9th, earning the last qualifying spot, the US Sailing Grit Award, and their 2nd berth in as many years to the Coed National Championship. At Nationals, the rams finish 18th.

At the MAISA Women’s Championship, Fordham finishes 5th, qualifying for Women’s National Semifinals for the 2nd time in three years. In the Western Semifinal bracket, the Rams finish 12th, narrowly missing a qualifying spot to Finals.

At the MAISA Women’s Fall Championship, Fordham finishes 7th, earning a place to the Atlantic Coast Championship where they finish 16th.

2015

At the 30-team Rose Bowl Regatta featuring nine varsity and 21 club programs. Fordham finishes in third place.

At the Prosser Trophy Regatta, the MAISA Team Race Championship, Fordham qualifies for National’s for the first time in our history, and at National’s finishes 11th in the nation and 1st among all club teams.

At the America Trophy Regatta, the MAISA Coed Dinghy Spring Championship, our Rams qualify for National’s and at National’s, Fordham qualifies for the ICSA Coed Dinghy National Championship Round for the first time and ends the season 14th among 230 College Sailing teams and #2 among 194 club teams!

At the MAISA Women’s Fall Dinghy Championship, Fordham finishes 3rd and qualifies for the Women’s Atlantic Coast Championship (ACC), and at the ACC, finishes 13th and #4 among club teams.

2014

Spring 2014

In a tie-breaker, our Rams place 5th at the Prosser Team Race Regatta, where the Top 4 teams qualify for Team Race National’s. Our coed and women’s teams qualify for national’s for the second time ever where they finish 10th and 11th respectively in the national semifinals: the top nine teams advance to the championship round.

Fall 2014

  • Qualifies for the Men’s National Single-handed Championship competition
  • Qualifies for the Atlantic Coast Women’s Championship
  • Finishes 4th at the extremely competitive 20-team, four-division Navy Fall Regatta
  • Wins the Hoyt Trophy Regatta, an 18-team, Interconference event hosted by Brown University
  • Places 2nd at the WAR Memorial Regatta, the MAISA Fall Coed Dinghy Championship
  • Finishes 5th at the Atlantic Coast Coed Dinghy Championship

Concludes 2014 with our highest Sailing World rankings ever!

  • 2nd among 53 teams in MAISA
  • 6th among 230 teams in the ICSA
  • 1st among 194 Club teams in the ICSA

2013

At the 30-team, Rose Bowl Regatta, Fordham finishes fifth overall and 1st among the 18 club teams. In addition, Fordham:

  • Places 8th at the America Trophy Regatta, the MAISA Coed Dinghy Spring Championship, therefore qualifying for Coed National Semifinals for the first time
  • Finishes 11th at the Coed Western Semifinal National Championship competition
  • Places 4th at the WAR Memorial Regatta, the MAISA Coed Fall Dinghy Championship, thereby qualifying for the Atlantic Coast Championship for the first time
  • Finishes eighth at the ICSA Men’s Single-handed National Championship
  • Places 10th at the Atlantic Coast Coed Dinghy Championship
  • Is ranked as high as 12th nationally among all coed teams by Sailing World Magazine

2012

Fordham wins the MAISA Club Teams’ Championship for the fifth time in 10 years. Our Coed team is ranked as high as 17th nationally and fifth among all club teams, plus, Fordham places seventh at the ICSA Men’s Singlehanded National Championship

2011

Fordham places 14th at Women’s National Semifinals

2010

Marks the 60th Anniversary of the founding of the Sailing Association and the 10th Anniversary of the Team’s rebirth. A gala celebration is held at the New York Yacht Club in May (See Sailing Association page for details). In addition, Fordham initiates a joint venture with the Columbia University Sailing Team. Today, the schools practice in a 30-boat fleet of 18 420s and 12 FJs.

2009

Our Coed team is ranked nationally for the first time.

2006

Our Women’s team is ranked nationally for the first time.

2003

Sailing World Magazine cites Fordham as its "#1 Up & Coming" College Sailing Program. WindCheck Magazine describes Fordham as "A wonderful success story."

2000

Fordham returns to College Sailing after a 27-year hiatus.
