Research Interests:
Pedro’s interests include United States relations with Latin America, Migration, Nation Building and Race in Latin America. His current research examines the intersection of political, economic, and cultural diplomacy in U.S.-Latin America relations during the 1930s and 1940s. In particular, his dissertation investigates U.S.-Uruguay relations during Franklin D. Roosevelt’s 12 years in office, to gauge the significance of FDR’s popular image in Uruguay, and examine the domestic and transnational aspects of Uruguayan foreign policy.
