    Social Policy I: Policy and the Profession

  • Yixuan Wang, LMSW, LLM, worked as a Data Analyst at UNICEF Division of Policy and Strategy supporting strategic policy planning on child welfare among developing countries. She also worked at NYC HPD where she started her research interest in comparative public housing policies. Her current research as a Ph.D. Candidate focuses on comparative social policy studies in the domain of child wellbeing and public health, targeting Asian-American families in the U.S. and rural-to-urban migrant children in China.

    Previously, Yixuan Wang spent five years studying laws in Beijing and Hong Kong, and practiced in the area of equity disputes as well as transnational legal affairs. Most recently, she is working at MCMH as a psychotherapist, while attending MITPP for her psychoanalytic and LCSW licensure. Additionally, she has been volunteering as a peer counselor at Columbia Health GHAP&WHAP since 2012.
