YES! the Graduate School of Religion and Religious Education offers tuition discounts or institutional aid to those who qualify.
GRE scholarships, which is also refereed to as "institutional aid", are awarded to students who meet certain qualifications. Currently, there are three types of tuition discounts/ institutional aid we offer our students:
- General, Need Based
- Church Worker
- International Priest or Religious
Determination of how much of a tuition waiver a student will receive is made after a student has been admitted to a program, submitted a FAFSA, completed the GRE scholarship form, and have registered for 6 credits. In other words, only the GRE students who have applied and have been admitted and registered for courses are eligible to submit for a GRE scholarship.
It is the policy of the GRE to not guarantee or promise a certain amount of aid during the application process, but rather inform applicants of the possibility of what they may earn or qualify for. If you have specific questions about the aid we offer, email GREaid@fordham.edu.

Other programs to meet financial need
the GRE offers students the opportunity to apply and work as a Graduate Assistant for either a faculty member (50% tuition discount) or in our front office (100% tuition remission). If you are interested in this type of opportunity, please email Asst. Dean Patrick Holt at Holt@fordham.edu.
