Job Sources
Students should actively engage with all of these potential sources of internships and jobs. This includes maintaining an accurately updated profile and visiting frequently to check for updated listings. For sites that offer an email digest of newly added internships and jobs, sign up for those messages so that you know about (and can apply for) opportunities as soon as they become available.

Résumé books
Both the Gabelli School CDC and its partner, GradLeaders, actively provide résumé books to prospective employers. Make sure you have a CDC-approved résumé posted on CareerPath to be considered for inclusion in these books.
LinkedIn has become a source of choice for employers to post available jobs. You can sign up for emails (at a frequency you determine) that contain listings LinkedIn has identified as possibly relevant for you. You also should join the Gabelli School’s alumni LinkedIn group to improve your networking prospects.
MBA and diversity conferences
Each year, national and regional organizations external hold recruiting fairs, networking events, and other gatherings designed to advance students’ career-search process. This PDF chart summarizes recommended opportunities (please note parameters for participation). Because it is not exhaustive, feel free to conduct your own search for events that suit your background, experience, and career objectives.

Networking
Fordham alumni
Networking with Fordham graduates is a great way to expand your sources for job leads. In addition to LinkedIn, explore the University’s dedicated alumni portal, Forever Fordham. You also can expand your alumni connections by attending career events and guest lectures where alumni are appearing. Check out upcoming events on the main GabelliConnect calendar, the GSB GradLink calendar, and the CareerPath calendar.
Fellow students
Your most immediate network is comprised of your fellow Gabelli School graduate students. Never underestimate whom they know and where they might have worked or been interns in the past—these people can potentially open doors for you. Network widely outside of your specific degree program. One of the best ways to do this is through joining graduate-level student organizations and attending their events, which often are posted on the GSB GradLink calendar.
Faculty
The Gabelli School faculty has strong ties to industry. Academic faculty have great business-world networks because companies use their theoretical insights. Clinical faculty have extensive connections because they were industry professionals before they became instructors. Talk to the professors who teach your classes to get their advice on possible sources of internships and jobs, and don’t be afraid to reach out to other Gabelli School faculty members whose bios indicate that they could help you, too. You can find all full-time faculty bios linked from this index page.
