Thomas Beaudoin, Ph.D.

Tom Beaudoin is Associate Professor of Religion. He is the author or editor of four books and numerous journal articles, chapters in edited books, and essays. 

His research foci are: theologies, philosophies, and religious studies of practice; comparative spiritual exercises; religious disaffiliation/affiliation; experiences of ultimacy: religious, spiritual, and secular; and popular music as secularly/religiously/spiritually/theologically significant.

He is currently at work on a book about making theological sense of practice in a religiously and secularly diverse world. 

A past president of the Association of Practical Theology, past chair of the Foucault Consultation and of the Practical Theology Group in the American Academy of Religion, and of the Practical Theology Group in the Catholic Theological Society of America, he serves on the editorial board of Brill's book series Theology in Practice, and has been a member of the International Academy of Practical Theology since 2008.
