Ritchie-Carter is the Associate Director for the Center for Catholic School Leadership and Faith-Based Education. Her primary research interests are Catholic culture and service-learning as a means for fostering adolescent moral and faith development.

Prior to coming to Fordham she served as Director of Catholic Education for the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City. Her responsibilities included serving as Superintendent of Schools and collaborating with parish religious education and pastoral ministry programs. She also served as an adjunct professor at St. Gregory’s University and helped prepare pre-service teachers for ministry in Catholic schools. As an Associate Superintendent in the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City, she was responsible for federal programs, curriculum design and professional development. In addition, Ritchie-Carter has been a Catholic elementary school principal and a public high school English and Theatre teacher.
